PIXEL ART
pixel art in games is 2D OR 3D sprites that look non realistic and are made up of pixels these are usually 2d platform games like Mario this uses this as it is a easy technique to do and it don't really take much time to develop. a sprite is character that uses basic animations and movement it can also be a background with animations for example moving clouds and and hills.
the original Mario used this with the hole game on the right is Mario as a pixled sprite and it looks like different elements of the background maybe to. also the clouds are more shaped like them but are also made of pixels there is no shadow but a little shading and is a basic 2d platform game
concept art
concept art is based around things like characters weapons vehicle and environments the games use this are games that make designs for the concepts these are like alien / advanced warfare games or like fantasy where they make there own stuff because of the genre.
many games use this these are games like alien star wars skirim and dead space these games have used stuff like the environment and the characters because these can not be made off ral things around the planet.
the game alien isolation is based around high tech out of this world technology that have been designed by using concept of other games and ideas base off of thing that we thing would be alien.
texture art
texture art is to make art look as if it would in real life many games use this especially the photo realistic games they us texture to make there game seem more real and bring in a lot more detailed.
this games terrain has used texture to make the grass trees and cliffs look as if there real and the water has its texture aswell there is also a few bits of sandy detail to bring out the realism.
back ground graphics
These are 2D images placed around the edges of a level environment creating the appearance this also can show what the game story is and Types of background graphics include Sky box's
vector images
Vector graphics is when things like lines, curves, different shapes and polygons which are all based on mathematical equations, are sue to represent graphics on a computer.
images are made up of thousands of pixels but vectors are made up of shapes
